Steve has over 30 years of civil trial experience and has tried over a hundred jury trials for both defendants and plaintiffs. His practice includes commercial litigation, professional liability, wrongful death, defective products, bank litigation, construction litigation, and insurance and coverage cases. Steve has obtained many seven figure jury verdicts and two eight figure verdicts, including his $12 million jury verdict in a landmark case involving blood products litigation. Steve also represents multiple insurance companies as well as individual litigants.
Steve has tried cases throughout Ohio in both state and federal courts. He also frequently serves as an arbitrator and mediator. A former Counsel to the Ohio State Medical Board, Steve also has served as a hearing officer for Ohio's various professional licensure and regulatory boards. He frequently defends public entities and Counties throughout Ohio, including an extensive Section 1983 practice.
Steve has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1996, as well as an AV-rated attorney with Martindale Hubbell. He was selected a Top Attorney In Ohio by the American Registry, designated an Ohio Super Lawyer in multiple years, and was listed in Best Lawyers in America for his handling of commercial litigation,. His trial results have twice been featured in the American Bar Association Journal, and he has appeared in multiple appellate courts, as well the Ohio Supreme Court.
Steve graduated from The Ohio State University (B.S in Business Administration, 1974) and earned his law degree from Capital University Law School (J.D., 1977). Steve is married and has four adult sons.
