Before practicing law, Scyld worked at the Mid-Ohio FoodBank overseeing charitable agencies which feed the hungry. He has been involved with a number of organizations as a volunteer, including The Hunger and Development Coalition of Central Ohio, the Godman Guild, and the Board of Friends of Stone Lab, The Ohio State University's Lake Erie laboratory. Currently, he sits on the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph Montessori School.
