Patrick M. Pickett, a member of the firm's corporate practice group, concentrates his practice on corporate, business and real estate related matters. He serves as counsel to medium and small corporations, limited liability companies and other business organizations in a variety of fields. Pat's corporate counseling work includes preparation and negotiation of all types of contracts, leases, shareholder agreements, restrictive covenants, employment agreements, consulting agreements and other corporate documents. Pat has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating business transactions, including the formation, sale, merger and acquisition of companies, as well as various real estate transactions. Pat also has a successful background in commercial litigation.
Pat is admitted to the Bars of The Supreme Court of Virginia (1993), the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (1991), the Supreme Court of Ohio (1989), the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Fourth and District of Columbia Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
Before coming to Isaac, Brant, Ledman & Teetor, Pat was with the firm of McCandlish & Lillard in Virginia. Prior to practicing law in Northern Virginia, Pat served a two-year judicial clerkship in the Court of Appeals of Ohio.
Pat earned his bachelor's degree cum laude from Bowling Green State University (B.S., 1986) and his law degree with high distinction from the Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University (J.D., 1989).
Pat served on the Year 2000 Charter Review Commission for the Village of Groveport and was recently appointed to serve on the 2010 Commission. He was appointed by the Franklin County Commissioners to serve on all of Franklin County's Tax Incentive Review Councils and Housing Councils. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and President of the Groveport Community Improvement Corporation and as a member of the Groveport Planning and Zoning Commission.
