Greg Travalio, serves the firm as Of Counsel, concentrating his practice in the areas of contracts, commercial law, and consumer law.
Greg graduated first in his class from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1975. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1975 and the Ohio Bar in 1984. After practicing law in Philadelphia with the firm of Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen, he received an LL.M. degree from Columbia University and began his teaching career at the Moritz College of Law of The Ohio State University. After thirty years of teaching contracts, commercial law, and consumer law, as well as teaching a civil litigation clinic, he retired in 2008 from the law faculty as the Lawrence D. Stanley Professor of Law. While at Ohio State, he also served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Professional Relations, and Director of Clinical Programs. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College and retired with the rank of Colonel in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 2006 after 30 years of service.
Greg has been awarded the Ohio Judicial Conference Outstanding Service Award, 1994; Proctor and Gamble Faculty Excellence Award in Corporate and Commercial Law, 1998; Ohio State Bar Association Award for Contributions to Ohio law and the Ohio bar, 2006; and the Ohio State University Faculty Distinguished Service Award, 2007.
He served as Member, Ohio Supreme Court Futures Commission, Task Force on Structure and Organization of the Courts, 1998-2000 and Board of Governors, Columbus Bar Association, 2004-2006. Greg is currently serving as the Editorial Advisor, Ohio Judicial Conference Jury Instruction Editorial Board; Master, Franklin Inns of Court; Council of Delegates, Ohio State Bar Association, and Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism.
Greg has co-authored Nordstrom on Sales and Leases of Goods, Aspen Law and Business (2d Ed. 2000) with Bob Nordstrom and Al Clovis. He wrote the 2003 through 2008 editions of the treatise Ohio Consumer Law, published by Lexis-Nexis Co.
Greg and his wife, Barbara enjoy traveling, hiking, and reading. Greg is also an avid motorcyclist.
