A.J. focuses his practice on representing individuals and local government clients in all aspects of civil litigation. A.J. is a proven leader and dedicated advocate for his clients. A.J. Hensel graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. While in law school, he was selected to extern with the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. A.J. was a member ofI/S: A Journal of Law and Policy for the Information Society. A.J. also received the CALI Award for Excellence presented to the top student in the Criminal Defense Practicum.
Prior to practicing law, A.J. served honorably and with pride as an officer in the United States Army. Following graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York in 2001, A.J. was assigned to the First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. A.J. is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom II where he served as a Scout Platoon Leader in Baghdad, Iraq. A.J. was awarded the Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal for leadership. A.J.’s prior military service is self-evident in his work-ethic, integrity, and devotion to duty.
A.J. is licensed to practice in all Ohio state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern District of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
As an avid sports enthusiast, A.J. enjoys golfing and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. Formerly of Marion, Ohio, A.J. now resides in New Albany, Ohio with his wife Shayla.
