Julia R. Baxter

Julia Baxter practices in the areas of labor and employment law, workers’ compensation, civil rights and discrimination defense. She gives advice and representation to local governments, private employers, and individuals in these matters. Julia is licensed to practice in all State of Ohio Courts. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association.

Prior to joining the firm, Julia was a Municipal Public Defender in Franklin County, representing individuals charged with misdemeanors and traffic offenses. Julia also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Guy Reece, II of the Franklin County Common Pleas Court.

Julia is a graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law (2010).  As a student, Julia was an Editor on the Ohio State Law Journal. She also received the CALI Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy and Employment Discrimination, and earned the Ohio State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section Award. Julia was an active member of the Black Law Students Association all three years. Julia also graduated from the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice (summa cum laude, 2007).

In her spare time, Julia enjoys spending time with her husband and relatives. She also enjoys singing, swimming, exercising, and playing the piano.   She is a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.  She is also a member of the Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer Inn of Court.
